Happy Reading, Ayme

And here she was now-Meya. The petite little thing, barely scraping 160 cm, cornered like some poor, clueless mouse against the wall near the girls' restroom.
Standing in front of her were two girls-the very same creatures behind the ear-splitting screeches earlier. Arms crossed, chins lifted like they ruled the damn school.
"Meya, stop playing hard to get, you bitch!" one of them snapped, clearly offended by Meya's mere existence.
And Meya? Oh, our little heroine was too busy examining her own fingers, pretending they were more interesting than the two walking dumpster fires in front of her. Let's not forget the rapid-fire heartbeats threatening to burst out near these two walking attitude problems.
"You will say yes! I don't take no for an answer, dumbass!" snapped the one with bangs still rolled up like she forgot she was in public.
"Hey! We're talking to you, not the wall, genius!"
Finally, Meya sighed. A big, dramatic sigh. She dared to lift her face-instantly regretting all of her life choices.
She'd woken up extra early just to avoid these two hyenas and yet... fate said: "Plot twist."
And guess what? Class hadn't even started yet. Fantastic.
"I-I said I don't want to," she whispered.
"Hold up," the other girl interrupted, casually digging into her ear like that was remotely acceptable. Her left hand propped dramatically against the wall, fully blocking Meya's escape.
"You're rejecting my offer? Since when do you get to say no?" she spat, voice dripping in condescension.
Meya blinked. She wasn't sure if this girl was a tenth grader or a mob boss in training.
"Didn't you... offer it? Doesn't that mean I can, you know... say no?" she replied, clearly confused.
"Bullshit! When the hell did I say that, you little bitch?!"
"Yesterday," Meya answered innocently.
"You idiot, Pit!" cried the girl with the roller-bangs, shoving her friend aside.
"Pat! Pit! It's Pirteya, damn it!" she screamed.
"Forget what Pirtek said!" snapped the other one. "You have to join the cheer squad!"
Meya shook her head. "I-I can't."
"Yes you can, Meya! All you have to do is shake your butt a little, how hard can that be?!" she groaned, clearly at her wit's end.
She'd been trying to recruit Meya into her precious cheer club since yesterday. All she got? Rejection, rejection, and more rejection.
"That's exactly it, Lana. I can't shake anything."
"Take a class or something! I'll even teach you!" Pirteya Kennopers offered, way too enthusiastically.
"For the last time-I'm not interested," Meya muttered, already turning to leave.
"You're so damn dumb, Mey! You've got the body-curves, style, sexy as hell! Our club would kill for someone like you!"
"Watch your mouth," Meya muttered, rolling her eyes.
"Oh, what? You mad? You wanna fight? Let me confirm your 'assets' real quick!" Pirteya lunged for Meya's shirt.
"No. I said I'm not interested. Thanks for the offer."
"Oh wow. Look at this bitch! Getting all high and mighty-"
"Something interesting going on here?"
Degg...
The two sewer rats froze. Slowly, they turned around like malfunctioning robots.
Standing at the restroom entrance were three boys. The boys. The school's very own delinquent royalty.
"You're done, right?"
"O-oh, Kane! Haha, yeah, just finishing up. We're outta here!" Pirteya grabbed her sidekick and fled like cartoon villains getting caught mid-plot.
Now only Meya remained. Still trembling, still cornered-but now facing three brand-new threats.
"You-"
Meya quickly hid her hands behind her back. No way in hell was she going to let him see her scared.
She was a great actress, wasn't she? She'd been fooling him for ages.
"How nice. My little mistress showed up early. Saves me the trip to the cafeteria," Kane smirked like he owned the world.
"Go get me some fried rice, Meya."
"Y-yes." Relief washed over her. At least she could escape the same airspace.
She dashed past the trio of smug delinquents-
"Ha! Bitch!" one of them laughed behind her. She froze.
"You scared of me?" Kane turned, his eyes glued to her tiny, fragile back.
Oh yes. Meya-his fiancée. Well, technically. More like slave. Or worse-fiancée by lottery win.
Wait-lottery? No, Kane called it a curse.
How dare her father propose a union with the Siwey family under the guise of friendship.
So this? This was Kane's revenge. He couldn't say no to his family, but he could make her life a living hell. That way, the engagement would be canceled.
Still, being the golden boy of the Siweys had its perks-it was kind of entertaining to break her spirit.
"Meya." Kane stepped closer, placing a hand on her shoulder. She flinched.
"Remember, I don't want you. So stay in your lane, dog." he hissed.
Meya stood stiff. She nodded. Loud and clear. Not that she wanted this engagement either.
Not with him.
The man who, unfortunately, once crept into her heart. Disgusting.
"Good girl. Be the perfect little pet your family raised you to be." Kane patted her head mockingly and shoved her down with force.
"Kane, isn't this a bit much?" Felix frowned. Even as a delinquent, he didn't rough up girls-unless they were the devil incarnate.
But this one? There was something in her eyes. Something shattered.
"You into this little servant, Fel?" Kane side-eyed him.
"Take her, man. I don't touch garbage like her." And with that, he strutted away like a jerk from a bad teen drama.
"Told you he was in one of those moods again," one of his cronies whispered.
"Hahaha, Meya, Meya... No one gives a damn about you."
Meya clenched her fists, pressing them against her chest, trying to crush the pain.
"I swear... I swear I'll find someone who actually loves me. Someone who stays. I promise."
